Preparation

Arrive ready.

Preparation is not about perfection. It is about intention. The way you prepare honours the process, the space, and your own journey.

The work begins before you arrive. The days leading up to ceremony are part of it — a quieting, a clearing, a turning toward what you have come to meet. Begin where you can; even a few days of care makes a difference. Where possible, begin the dieta at least seven days before ceremony.

The dieta (dietary preparation)

In the days before ceremony, we ask that you set aside:

  • Pork and red meat
  • Heavy oils, processed foods, and sugar
  • Dairy
  • Alcohol and caffeine
  • Recreational drugs
  • Sexual activity

Spiritual preparation

  • Daily prayer or meditation
  • Reflection on your intention — why you are coming, and what you are seeking
  • Mindful consumption of what you take in — media, conversation, company

Emotional preparation

  • Where you can, step back from triggering environments
  • Journal as feelings surface
  • Allow emotion to rise without resistance — trust that the process has already begun
